On a 30-hectare rice-growing lowland in the village of Sao, production has risen from 84 tonnes in 2024 to 135 tonnes in 2025. The Vaccination Park is also helping to alleviate the difficulties of providing medical care for cattle in the Tch\u00e9riba commune, and reducing the distance farmers have to travel to vaccinate their animals. I would like to thank the Consortium for its effective involvement in the agropastoral and halieutic offensive, an initiative of the high authorities to achieve food self-sufficiency in our country,&#8221;<\/em> confided Mr. <strong>Pierre Babou BASSINGA, <\/strong>Governor of the Bankui region, at the end of a visit to some of the RESICOM project&#8217;s achievements in the commune of Tch\u00e9riba, on October 18, 2025. Taking part in the visit alongside the Governor were the High Commissioner of the Mouhoun Province, the Secretary General of the Province, the President of the Special Delegation of the Tch\u00e9riba commune, technicians from the Regional Department of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources and the RESICOM project team. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"559\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-1024x559.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34877\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-1024x559.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-150x82.png 150w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-768x419.png 768w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-293x160.png 293w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-160x87.png 160w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-147x80.png 147w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16-80x44.png 80w, https:\/\/www.solidarburkina.bf\/wp-content\/uploads\/16.png 1277w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Mr. Pierre Babou BASSINGA, Governor of the Bankui region (in yellow shirt), thanked the Consortium for its effective involvement in the agropastoral and fisheries offensive, an initiative by the authorities to achieve food self-sufficiency.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The infrastructures visited included :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the 30-hectare rice-growing lowland in the village of Sao, developed using the HIMO (high-intensity labor) approach for the benefit of 120 beneficiaries (landowners, former farmers, very poor households and IDPs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <strong>Mr. Blaise SOME, head of the RESICOM project<\/strong>, the aim of developing rice-growing lowlands is to improve the incomes of vulnerable households by increasing their agricultural production. The approach adopted by the project has enabled vulnerable households to gain access to a developed lowland for rice production, thanks to a participatory process of community targeting through a Household Economy Analysis (HEA). In the Bankui region (formerly known as Boucle du Mouhoun), a total of <strong>134 <\/strong>hectares of rice-growing lowlands have been developed for the benefit of <strong>665<\/strong> vulnerable people in the villages of Sao, N\u00e9r\u00e9korosso (Tch\u00e9riba commune), Kekaba (Ouarkoye commune), B\u00f4h, Sapala (Yaba commune) and Koin (Toma commune);    <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>  the cattle vaccination park in the village of Sirak\u00e9l\u00e9: the availability of this park enabled the vaccination of around <strong>900<\/strong> cattle in the village of Sirak\u00e9l\u00e9, during the 2024-2025 vaccination campaign. The aim of the visit is to assess the work carried out by the provincial departments of agriculture, animal resources and fisheries, to capitalize on the actions implemented by the project as part of the agro-pastoral and fisheries offensive, and to make recommendations to the project to ensure the sustainability of the infrastructures built. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mr. Fay\u00e7al T\u00c9GUERA, Regional Director of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries for Bankui<\/strong>, who also took part in the visit, praised the participatory approach adopted by the project through the involvement of technical departments in planning, capacity building for beneficiaries and close monitoring of project activities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the beneficiaries of the facilities visited, this outing is most welcome. &#8221; <em>We are delighted with the <\/em><em>Governor<\/em> <em>&#8216;s visit <\/em><em>.<\/em><em>It motivates us to redouble our efforts to achieve good agricultural yields. We&#8217;re asking for their support to facilitate the sale of our production and the development of a market-gardening perimeter for dry-season market gardening,&#8221;<\/em> confided <strong>BAMOUNI Nabila, chairman of the Sao lowland rice-growing supervisory committee. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The RESICOM project is funded by the Royal Danish Embassy in Burkina Faso.
