This security crisis is having an impact on the local population: around 10% of the population is internally displaced. It has also led to disruptions in Burkina Faso’s education system. As a result, there are major obstacles to accessing and maintaining schools for internally displaced pupils, as well as pupils from host communities, due to the vulnerability of households. In addition, teachers are poorly prepared to face the challenges of education in crisis situations.

To this situation, Solidar Suisse intends to contribute to the response through the implementation of the project “Promotion de l’accès inclusif, sain et protecteur à l’éducation formelle et alternative pour les enfants affectés par la crise sécuritaire (Chaine du Bonheur)” in the Centre Nord region. During these 05 days, participants were reinforced in l’analyse du contexte (conflit), l’identification des approches programmatiques sensibles au conflit, la protection de l’enfant et la sécurité personnelle dans le contexte de risques sécuritaires.

As a reminder, the project “Promotion de l’accès inclusif, sain et protecteur à l’éducation formelle et alternative pour les enfants affectés par la crise sécuritaire (Chaine du Bonheur) “, is being implemented in the Centre-Nord region, Sanmatenga province, and covers the period from April 2024 to September 2026.
