The achievements of the RESICOM project will make a substantial contribution to achieving the objectives of the 2023-2025 agrosylvo-pastoral and fisheries offensive, as they are fully in line with the objectives assigned to this offensive, which aims to strengthen the country’s food sovereignty and household food security,” confided Mr. Albéric Lionnel BAYALA, Regional Head of Sectoral Studies and Statistics at the Boucle du Mouhoun Regional Department of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries (DRARA). Among the activities visited were: the vaccination park in the Tchériba commune, the rice-growing lowland (20 hectares) in the Sapala commune, the input and warrantage stores in the Toma commune, as well as the CES/DRS facilities and the market gardening perimeter in the Yaba commune. This visit is part of the monitoring of project activities in accordance with the framework protocol for collaboration between the project and DRARAH. It’s an opportunity to take stock of achievements, identify difficulties and facilitate the taking of measures to ensure the smooth running of activities”.

As for the beneficiaries of the facilities visited, this outing is most welcome. ” We are delighted by this visit from DRARAH, and it motivates us to redouble our efforts to achieve good yields at the end of the season”, confided Mr. Zakaria KI, President of the “Laobarka (Dieu Merci)” Cooperative, a beneficiary of the Bounou perimeter.

Mr. Aristide ZONO, Provincial Director of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries for Nayala, who also took part in the visit, reassured producers of his department’s readiness to support them in making efficient use of the facilities to promote food security, particularly for vulnerable households including internally displaced people.

The RESICOM project is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Burkina Faso. It is implemented by the consortium Solidar Suisse and SOS SAHEL International Burkina Faso, in partnership with OCADES – Dédougou (Boucle du Mouhoun), the Fédération des Professionnels Agricoles du Burkina – FEPAB-Yatenga (North) and the Association Wend-Kuuni du Centre-Nord.
