A poor distribution of resources between the different social strata limits a country's development efforts. In Burkina Faso, Solidar Suisse fights to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations. We are multiplying our actions to create decent work conditions, to improve access to quality public services for all and to ensure a fair distribution of resources.

Economy and Work

Strengthen the livelihoods of vulnerable populations and reduce child labor.

Democracy, Civil Society, and Humanitarian Action

Improved access to quality public services for all (host communities and displaced populations) and equal distribution of resources.

Nexus

Using this approach, our work combines humanitarian action, rural development and peace activities. The goal is to offer better living conditions to rural populations in an environment of social cohesion.

Areas of intervention

In Burkina Faso, the majority of vulnerable populations live in rural areas. To change this situation and strengthen their livelihoods, Solidar Suisse intervenes in certain rural areas of the country which are considered more vulnerable (according to data from reference studies). Our areas of intervention to date are: the Plateau Central, the Centre Nord, the Nord, the Est, the Boucle du Mouhoun, the Sahel, etc.
