From April 03 to 06, 2025, the IPD/AOS is organizing the 5th edition of the fair for agroecological products, organic products and processed local products under the theme “Social and solidarity-based economy: a driving force for local development”. The “Promotion des pratiques agroécologiques et de valorisation des productions agricoles, Rilgré” project is taking part in this fair with 05 cooperatives producing bio-intrants (Bokashi and compost enriched with trichoderma), cowpea-based couscous, corn-based cookies, peanut paste and parboiled rice.
As a reminder, the Rilgré project aims to “improve the integrated management of natural resources and sustainably restore natural ecosystems in the Sahel in order to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in the face of climate change”.
One of the project’s areas of intervention is to “Enhance the value of restored land by developing inclusive and sustainable value chains (excluding NTFPs) for the benefit of local communities”. To achieve this, the project intends to create and/or strengthen 52 economic units, including 13 bio-input production scoops, 26 production scoops and 13 processing/preservation scoops for agricultural products (excluding NTFPs) in 04 inclusive and sustainable value chains (cowpea, groundnut, sesame and rice).
We invite you to visit the IPD/AOS from April 03 to 06, 2025, to discover and learn more about the products offered by 05 partner cooperatives of the Rilgré project participating in this fair.
According to Ousséni SIENOU, agroecology specialist with the Rilgré project , “this fair will be an opportunity to showcase the Rilgré project’s approach to capacity building for producers in the promotion of agroecology. Participation in this fair will also facilitate contacts with various partners for the organization of regional fairs on agroecological practices promoted within the framework of the Rilgré project”. For the cooperatives involved in the Rilgré project, participation in this fair will enable them to showcase their know-how, expand their economic opportunities, receive training and actively contribute, through agroecology, to the promotion of the Social Solidarity Economy in their areas of intervention.
The Rilgré project is implemented by the consortium Solidar Suisse Burkina and the Association Beo-Neeré Agroécologie (ABNA) in partnership with the Association Wendkouni /Namentenga. It is financed by the Kingdom of Belgium as part of the Portefeuille Thématique Climat Sahel (#PTCS)-volet Burkina Faso of the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel).
