Strengthening the material capacities of young people and women trained in agricultural entrepreneurship: this was the main objective of the ceremony to hand over installation kits to 300 young people and women from the Boucle du Mouhoun region, held on June 14, 2022 in the town of Dédougou.
Through this support, the RESICOM project aims to “facilitate access for 2,000 young people and 2,000 women to short-term vocational training in the agroforestry sector”. After several weeks’ training, 300 beneficiaries from the Boucle du Mouhoun region have been trained in techniques and materials for fattening small ruminants, market gardening and plant production.
As a reminder, over 1,200 young people and women already identified by the project on these three themes have already been trained. Following their training, the project plans to provide them all with small-scale materials and equipment to enable them to become rapidly operational and better reinvest what they have learned during their training. This ceremony marks the start of a series of kit deliveries that will take place in the two regions where the RESICOM project is being implemented: the North and the Boucle du Mouhoun.
The handover ceremony was presided over by the Governor of the Boucle du Mouhoun region, represented by Mr . Ourobè DIOMA, Prefect in charge of current affairs at Dédougou town hall. In his view, this support will enable beneficiaries to achieve greater success in agricultural entrepreneurship. He also invited the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment received to develop their businesses and create jobs for other young people.
