Strengthen local democratic culture by improving the capacity of CSOs and citizens (M/F) in urban and rural areas to influence and monitor, and by strengthening the capacity of local and sub-local authorities to engage in dialogue and make proposals, with a gender-sensitive approach in the Plateau Central and Boucle du Mouhoun regions.

Local civil society organizations present in the Central Plateau and Boucle du Mouhoun regions, notably in the 9 intervention communes.
Local radio stations in the two regions (Radio Dounia in Boussé, Radio Bassy and Radio Vénégré in Ziniaré, Radio Unité in Boudry, Radio Laafi from Zorgho in the Plateau Central and Radio Salaki, Radio FM Dédougou, Radio Islamique Ahmadiyya, Radio Fréquence Espoir from CEDICOM in the Commune of Dédougou) are also present.

The 783,337 inhabitants of the intervention zone in the two regions

Local civil society is capable of federating and defending the interests of urban and rural citizens in dealings with public authorities.
Citizens in rural areas will have better access to information on local management and will play a more active role in prioritizing policies and monitoring the quality of basic public services.
Basic social services (drinking water and sanitation, education, health, civil status) will be improved, and such experiences will be used to stimulate better government action.
