The multiple security incidents and climatic shocks that Burkina Faso is experiencing have created a large number of vulnerable people, who no longer have the means to look after the vital needs of their families for whom they are responsible. Launched in 2021, the “Strengthening the community resilience of agroforestry households in the North, Boucle du Mouhoun and Centre-Nord regions (RESICOM)” project is a response to the vulnerability of populations to climate shocks in regions facing major security challenges. Carried out by the consortium Solidar Suisse, SOS Sahel International Burkina Faso and its local partners OCADES Dédougou and FEPAB-Yatenga in the North, Boucle du Mouhoun and Centre-Nord regions, the project is based on NEXUS: Humanitarian-Development-Peace, using innovative approaches to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable households in 27 communes.
