From February 18 to 21, 2025, the Rilgré project management unit organized two training sessions for members of the technical cores of the Rilgré agroecological communities of practice (CoRi) in the communes of Andemtenga, Kando, Koupéla and Pouytenga in the Centre-Est region, and the communes of Absouya, Méguet, Kogho and Salogo in the Plateau-Central region.
The aim of the two sessions was to strengthen the capacities of the technical nuclei, which are responsible for providing local support to smallholders through social mobilization and the dissemination of agroecological techniques in the face of current climatic challenges. These 02 sessions brought together a total of 40 members, including 10 women, from 40 villages, i.e. one member per village. Each training session focused on techniques for monitoring activities and disseminating agroecological practices. The members of the CoRi technical cores who received training will then share the knowledge they have acquired through awareness-raising sessions using image boxes.
Set up by the Rilgre project, the CoRi is a form of social organization adapted to the socio-cultural context of the target communes, with a view to guaranteeing the sustainability of the project’s results. At commune level, each CoRi comprises 200 members, including a 20-strong management committee and a 5-strong technical core.
The Rilgré project is implemented by the Solidar Suisse consortium and the Association Beo-Neeré Agroécologie (ABNA) in partnership with the Wendkuni Association. It is financed by the Kingdom of Belgium as part of the Portefeuille Thématique Climat Sahel (PTCS)-volet Burkina Faso.
