In rural areas, some producers face difficulties in accessing inputs and a lack of local support services. To remedy this, the RESICOM project has set up service poles to strengthen the productive capital of rural populations. The “service pole” is a multidisciplinary unit supported by a local “umbrella” farmers’ organization, providing a range of paid-for services at social prices and tailored to farmers’ needs. This approach has been well received by producers, who see their agropastoral production improve thanks to the availability of inputs and local technical support.
