After a few months’ training in a variety of vocational trades of their choice (cutting and sewing, metal carpentry, two-wheeler mechanics, sanitary plumbing, dyeing and weaving, catering, cell phone repair, building and solar electricity, etc.), around a hundred vulnerable and internally displaced young people aged 16 to 17 excluded from the education system in the communes of Boussouma, Kaya and Korsimoro have been provided with installation kits. The official handover ceremony took place on November 27, 2025 in Kaya, chaired by the President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Kaya, Mme Solange KIMA/MINOUNGOU. From her point of view, this action contributes effectively to the fight against youth unemployment and strengthens the local economy. She urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the equipment they received, and to persevere until they had created successful micro-businesses.
As a reminder, this handover of installation kits is part of the project “Promoting inclusive, healthy and protective access to formal and alternative education for children affected by the security crisis”, implemented by Solidar Suisse Burkina with financial support from Swiss Solidarity.
