A training session on conflict prevention, management and sensitivity was held in Koudougou from April 24 to 28, 2023. Organized as part of the “Strengthening the community resilience of agro-silvopastoral households in the Boucle du Mouhoun and Nord regions” (RESICOM) project, this training, which brought together 30 youth and women CSO leaders from the project’s 02 implementation regions, was aimed primarily at building their capacities in the areas of conflict sensitivity, conflict prevention and management, and the conduct of actions contributing to conflict prevention and resolution.
Participants followed with interest the introduction on the definition of key training concepts
Over a period of 05 days, the participants were equipped with approaches and tools for identifying, analyzing and managing community conflicts, and for factoring conflict sensitivity into the project cycle. They were also taught how to draw up action plans adapted to their contexts, with a view to strengthening peace and social cohesion.
Practical work on rebuilding community peace
As a reminder, the RESICOM project is being implemented by the Solidar Suisse-SOS Sahel International Burkina Faso consortium in collaboration with local partners: Organisation Catholique pour le Développement et la Solidarité -Dédougou (OCADES) for the Boucle du Mouhoun region and the Fédération des Professionnels Agricoles du Burkina-Yatenga (FEPAB) for the Nord region. The project, which covers twenty communes in both regions, is funded by the Danish Embassy in Burkina Faso for the period 2021-2025. Through this training, the project intends to contribute to the peaceful management of shared natural resources and to the strengthening of intra/inter-community dialogue in its areas of intervention through the implementation of innovative actions retained in the action plans of the partner associations.
