“Strengthen the skills of master craftsmen to ensure better transfer of skills to young learners in a safe environment”. This is the main objective of the training session held from December 09 to 11, 2024 in the town of Kaya, for the benefit of twenty-five (25) master craftsmen from the Sanmatenga province. Organized by Solidar Suisse, this training session is part of an Education in Emergencies project (ESU), entitled “Promoting inclusive, healthy and protective access to formal and alternative education for children affected by the security crisis”. One of the project’s aims is to offer alternative education to 100 out-of-school or out-of-school young people aged 16 to 17. To achieve this, over a period of 03 days, the master craftsmen identified to train these young people were given training in occupational health, environment and safety, in teaching techniques for transmitting knowledge based on the competency-based approach (CBA) , and in the use of guides for the short-term training approach.

On December 11, 2024, in collaboration with the Sanmatenga Provincial Department of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, as part of the ESU project, we distributed school kits to forty-five (45) internally displaced and host pupils in the commune of Kaya, and dignity kits to 26 girls. The beneficiaries are students in grades 6 to 2. Each school kit includes a bag, notebooks, books, pens, pencils, notebook protectors, etc.

  • 100 young people, including 50 girls, outside the education system, through vocational training and support for professional integration and ;
