From February 07 to 10, the first quarterly meeting of the year 2024 was held in Koudougou for the actors of the project “Strengthening the community resilience of agroforestry households in the Boucle du Mouhoun, Nord and Centre-Nord regions” (RESICOM): the Consortium Solidar Suisse-SOS SAHEL International Burkina Faso and its local partners, the Catholic Organization for Development and Solidarity-Dédougou (OCADES-Dédougou), the Federation of Agricultural Professionals of Burkina-Yatenga (FEPAB/ Yatenga) and the Wendkouni Association of Centre-Nord.

The main objective of this meeting was to ensure proper coordination and monitoring of the project’s implementation. To this end, the meeting served as a framework for identifying difficulties in the execution of activities, presenting the security situation in the intervention zones, drawing lessons learned and recommendations for achieving objectives in the project’s 03 areas of intervention: early recovery, development, peace and social cohesion.

The meeting was also an opportunity to introduce the new project team for the Centre-Nord region. In order to facilitate a good appropriation of the RESICOM project, this team was equipped on the areas of intervention of the project, the approaches of implementation as well as the system of monitoring-evaluation and capitalization of the aforementioned project.

As a reminder, the RESICOM project aims to “Contribute to the sustainable strengthening of the resilience of agroforestry households, including that of IDPs, affected by the security crisis and climate change”: the initial intervention regions are the Boucle du Mouhoun and the North. Starting in 2024, the project will be extended to the Centre-Nord region. This extension is due to the positive results achieved in the 02 initial intervention regions.

By December 31, 2023, the overall financial execution had reached 69%. On this occasion, Mr. Blaise SOME, RESICOM Project Manager, congratulated the players on the results already achieved and invited them to redouble their efforts to multiply the project’s impact on improving the living conditions of agroforestry households, including the IDPs of the Boucle du Mouhoun, Nord and Centre-Nord regions, the main targets of the RESICOM project.
