“Elaborate in a participatory manner the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) 2023 of the project “Strengthening community resilience of agroforestry households in the Boucle du Mouhoun and Nord regions (RESICOM)””. This was the aim of a workshop held in Koudougou from October 18 to 20, 2022, attended by members of the Solidar Suisse Burkina consortium and SOS SAHEL International Burkina Faso – ONG (SOSSIBF).

The meeting served as a framework for: taking stock of the mid-term execution of the 2022 PTBA, drawing up the 2023 PTBA and planning the work plan and budget for semesters 1 and 2 of 2023.

As a reminder, the RESICOM project is implemented in collaboration with local partners: the Catholic Organization for Development and Solidarity – Dédougou (Ocades Caritas Burkina / Dédougou) for the Boucle du Mouhoun region and the Federation of Agricultural Professionals of Burkina – Yatenga (FEPAB) for the Northern region.

The project, which covers twenty communes in the two regions, is funded by the Danish government through its new strategic framework for bilateral cooperation between Denmark and Burkina Faso for the period 2021-2025.

Despite the security situation, which is not conducive to the implementation of activities, there are a number of positive aspects to the implementation of the 2022 PTBA:

  • Water and Soil Conservation (CES) and Soil Defence and Restoration (DRS) works: 242.5 ha developed and sown for 128 households;
  • 560 people paid thanks to the choice of the High-Intensity Labor Infrastructure (HIMO) approach for the construction of the works;
  • 399 vulnerable households trained in sheep fattening and each provided with 02 rams;
  • 320 people trained in market gardening ;
  • Out of a total of 200 ha of rice-growing lowlands to be developed: 120 ha are being finalized, including 78 ha planted for the 2022 crop year; etc.

At the end of the workshop, budgeted work plans specific to each consortium member and local partner were drawn up. The aim is to facilitate the operationalization of activities planned for 2023.
