On November 25 and 26, 2016 the Association Tind Yalgré (ATY) held the bet for the organization of the 10th edition of the Day of the Producers of Kourwéogo (JPK) in boussé chief town of the province.
The theme of this year’s event was: Applying new technologies to cope with the effects of climate change. This was an opportunity to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment.
According to ATY President Madi SAWADOGO, the objectives set for the ceremony were achieved, which is a source of great satisfaction. This success was made possible thanks to the material and financial support of traditional partners such as the NGO ASMADE and SOLIDAR SUISSE.
The Representative of SOLIDAR SUISSE IN BURKINA, Mr. R. Dieudonné ZAONGO, congratulated the organizers on the success of the event, as well as the producers who had seen their merits rewarded in the fields of livestock, agriculture and off-season crops.
He also expressed his organization’s commitment to supporting these types of activities for the benefit of rural stakeholders.
A total of 150 candidates entered the competition, but after the jury’s deliberations, 53 producers were awarded working equipment. The idea is to encourage these brave farmers and inspire others to do better to deserve the gifts. A date has been set for the 11th edition in 2017.
