As part of the food security project that the NGO Solidar Suisse in Burkina Faso will be running from 2017 to 2020 in the Central Plateau region, Yam-Pukri has been commissioned to carry out a study to establish a baseline of project indicators in 2016. This will enable the project to be better evaluated at the end, and to know whether it has had a real impact.
On Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Ouahigouya, the results of the study were presented to Solidar Suisse officials in Burkina in the presence of representatives of the project’s beneficiary associations.
In order to obtain reliable results, Yam-Pukri used a methodological approach that takes into account several data collection techniques.
The partner associations that were the subject of this study are Manegd Zanga in Oubritenga, Tind Yalgré in Kourwéogo and Béoog Néeré in Ganzourgou.
The study reveals that the current standard of living of the beneficiaries measured by the level of food security and income is moderately acceptable.
According to the study, agriculture is largely dominated by cereal production intended primarily to satisfy food needs.
The relevance of the results of the study was recognized and the representative of Solidar Suisse in Burkina Faso expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out by the Yam-Pukri study team.
