Promoting agroecology: Solidar Suisse rewards model producers in the commune of Salogo

On June 21, 2023, a ceremony was held in the rural commune of Salogo (Ganzourgou province) to reward model producers from the Malgzindo cooperative who promoted agroecological techniques on their market-gardening farms during the 2021-2022 agricultural season. Out of 41 producers entered in the competition, 10 were rewarded with various prizes (fences, motorized pumps, bags of compost, etc.). Rasmané Ilboudo, who came first in the ranking, received a wheelbarrow, a large motor pump and two fences. He expressed his delight at receiving this equipment and promised to redouble his efforts for future editions.

Chaired by Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, High Commissioner of the Ganzourgou province, the ceremony was organized as part of the “Strengthening agricultural entrepreneurship among producers in the village of Salogo” project. This project is being implemented by Solidar Suisse Burkina Faso and piloted at partner level by the Association Beoog-Neeré du Ganzourgou (l’ABNG) for the period 2021-2024.

🎯 Main objective :
The producers in the village of Salogo, united in a cooperative, are improving their living conditions in a sustainable way, while also improving their environment. In Salogo, people are resilient in the face of poverty thanks to agricultural entrepreneurship.
📅 Implementation Period :
01.01.2021- 31.12.2024
👥 Primary Target Groups :
The direct beneficiaries are one hundred and thirty-six (136) producers, including 101 women (74.26%), all members of the Malgzindo cooperative and residents of Salogo.
📊 Expected Results :
Expected result 1 (R1): Reinforcement of infrastructure and equipment to increase the cooperative's production: market garden production, enriched compost and moringa are increased.
