On April 01, 2022, the quarterly meeting of the “Promotion de l’accès des filles à un Système Educatif et de Formation Professionnelle de qualité (PROMESSE-FP)” project (the Solidar Suisse- Educo – Aflatoun international consortium and its local partners ARFA, Tin-Tua, OCADES Ouahigouya, OCADES Kaya, CCEB, APIJ-CN, Tabital Lobal, CRUS, UFC Dori) was held in the town of Ouahigouya.
Gathered around the same table, members of the Consortium and local partners took stock of activities, assessed the security situation in the intervention zones and formulated a number of recommendations for the continuation of activities. Participants also discussed strategies and tools for capitalizing on the project’s successes.
This meeting was part of the technical coordination and monitoring of the project’s implementation in the various intervention zones. In his closing remarks, Mr. Dieudonné ZAONGO, Country Representative of Solidar Suisse, the consortium’s lead partner, congratulated the various players for their commitment and resilience in implementing the project’s activities in an unfavorable security context. This was proof of the humanitarian role assigned to non-governmental organizations. He also invited the participants to adopt the recommendations put forward to ensure the success of the consortium’s missions.
As a reminder, the PROMESSE-FP project aims to improve access for girls and women in the intervention regions to a quality education and vocational training system, and to decent incomes. The project covers the North, Centre-North, East and Sahel regions. It is being implemented with the financial support of the Netherlands Embassy in Burkina Faso.
