This is the aim of the workshop organized by the Pan-African Institute for Development – West Africa and Sahel (Ipd-Aos) on March 07, 2023 as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day.

On this occasion, the experience of the “Promotion de l’accès des filles à un Système Educatif et de Formation Professionnelle de qualité (PROMESSE FP)” project on capacity building for rural girls and women in the use of social networks to promote their income-generating activities was presented.

Over the course of 2022, 1,235 girls and women were trained in digital marketing techniques through the Facebook and WhatsApp Business platforms, in the project’s four implementation regions: the North, Centre North, Sahel and East.

In addition, a Facebook page and WhatsApp groups created and run by the women in the 04 regions are already enabling them to access profitable markets and orders.

As a reminder, through this approach, the PROMESSE-FP project ultimately aims to build the capacity of 6,000 girls and women in the informal sector to use ICTs to promote their business activities and improve their incomes.
