“Putting master craftsmen in touch with beneficiaries to help them discover job opportunities and choose apprenticeship trades. This is the aim of the innovative trades forum, held for the3rd time on March 30, 2023 in the town of Fada N’Gourma.
Organized in partnership with our local partner, the ARFA Association, this forum provided a forum for exchange and experience sharing between master craftsmen and 90 young girls and women aged between 19 and 35 from the Eastern region. Also present were microfinance institutions such as the Fonds d’Appui aux Activités Rémunératrices de Femmes (FAARF) and the Fonds d’Appui aux Initiatives des Jeunes (FAIJ), which provided information on how to grant credit to these young girls and women.
At the end of this meeting, they will be placed with master craftsmen to train in their chosen trades. For the 2023 cohort, eight (08) trades are planned: aesthetic hairdressing, cutting and sewing, weaving dyeing, saponification, 2-wheel car mechanics, dairy product processing, sanitary plumbing and solar energy.
